What can a website do for your business?

The ultimate goal of adding an online presence to your marketing plan is to increase your yearly profits. Using the latest design techniques in web design it is possible to use the web to build a name for your business in the community, and to gain credibility over your competition. The internet, and search engine optimization, is a complicated area when it comes to putting yourself out there. It is very easy to build a website and host it only to find that nobody is showing up. There are many reasons for this to happen, and it is rather complicated to "undo". On the other hand, it is also very realistic to put a site up on the web, and promote your business to hundreds, even thousands of potential customers.

There are several basic elements to web design that play a key role in whether your website sits in a dark hole on the web to be found by nobody, or sits out there on top bringing increased revenue to your business, be it local or international. When Carpenter Graphic Solution takes on a new client we begin by creating a "Site Map". The goal of this phase of the project is to invent a clean navigation system to provide your clients ease of use while visiting your website. We will generally figure at least two ideas, and keep both until development of the final layout.

Next we compare and contrast several different color schemes and logo designs. A color scheme and logo can represent an organized efficient company, generally using only colors and a small graphical image. Carpenter Graphic Solution will then use these colors in a series of test layout options. Once we find that the scheme which is an accurate representation of what your intend you visitors to perceive you as, we will move on to the next phase of the project.

With a good color scheme and functional website navigation behind us we take on the task of content management. Website content management plays a key role in keeping your website updated, pages flowing, and search engines crawling your site. The design of your site has to be done in a manner that allows for expanding and contracting of your pages for addition and subtraction of text and images. A big plus in search engine optimization is constantly updating text on your pages. Using a design scheme that allows this makes for easy updates not only for search engines, but for your clients as well. Return visitors are just as important as your unique visitors.

After the content management section of your project is finished we will put your pages up on the web and provide you the links to the concept site. This begins the first series of revisions between the designer and client. We understand that your site is an artistic representation of who you are, and your satisfaction is of highest importance throughout the entire project. Using your thoughts on the existing layout we will begin our changes, and proceed with the next area of development.

Having come to an agreement on the aesthetic areas for your project we begin the task of putting all of the elements of the website into action. Usually this is the longest phase of the project, but also the most rewarding. We will add all of the text you provide on the appropriate pages, and begin connecting the interactive sections to provide forms and photo galleries. During the process we will submit you links to the pages along the way to make sure that there is an agreement on the final result of the project.

The next, and very valuable, section of the project is where all of the behind the scenes work comes into play. Your site will be optimized according to the search term most commonly used in recent months. We do the research for you, and find a search term related to your business. That term is then plugged into your title, alternate image tags, description tag, as well as the text and headers on the pages. We then compare your results to other sites ranked in the search engines under the same search term. We have had very positive results in the past using this method of website optimization, and hope to do the same for you.

This completes the construction and layout end of your project, and leaves the beta testing and final revisions portion of the project. We will go over all of the links, pages, and images to ensure there are no broken links. We read over all of the text on various pages, and check for spelling and grammar errors. Your electronic forms will be tested and setup to send data to your new email account which will also be created in the final steps of the project. Upon completion you will receive a disc containing all of the optimized images taken during any photography sessions, as well as the final bill of receipt and contract.

If all of this sounds overwhelming, please don't be worried. You will find that our staff is a pleasure to deal with and they walk you through the entire process. We want to thank you for your interest in our services, and hope you let us help you promote your business in the recent future.
